At first many companies thought that Consent would be the only legal basis for processing personal data for the purpose of directy marketing. There are two legal basis for processing data for marketing purposes, the second being Legitimate Interest.
We have produced guidelines and templates in partnership with industry professionals and the DMA specifically for direct marketers who are using, or wish to use Legitimate Interest as their legal basis for processing 1st and 3rd party data for direct mail.
